Celebrating Grandparents Month and National Teddy Bear Day with stories, smiles, and sweet surprises.
📍 Location: Senior Day KC, Lenexa
🎟️ Price: $60 — Includes all activities, snacks, refreshments, and a soda fountain treat
👥 Program Type: A non-medical morning program for independent adults
🧍 Comfortable, movement-friendly attire recommended
🗂️ Schedule of Activities – 9:00 AM to 12:45 PM
☕ 9:00–9:30 AM — Coffee Chat: Bear Hugs & Grandparent Brags
Swap stories about grandkids, childhood toys, and treasured family memories. Bring a favorite teddy bear or plush for show-and-tell!
💪 9:30–10:15 AM — Forever Strong Fitness: Grin & Bear It
A fun, chair-based workout featuring gentle stretches, paw-presses, and bear-inspired movements—all set to nostalgic tunes.
🎨 10:15–11:15 AM — Choose your activity:
• Craft Corner: Pocket Bears & Memory Cards
Create a mini felt teddy bear to keep or gift, or decorate a keepsake memory card to display on our Wall of Wisdom.
• Active Alternative: Bear Bean Bag Challenge
Toss bean bags at teddy-themed targets like honey pots and bear paws. Lighthearted fun and playful prizes await!
🧠 11:15–11:45 AM — Group Game: Beary Fun Trivia
Test your knowledge of childhood classics, famous bears, and grandparent know-how in this entertaining trivia showdown.
🍨 11:45 AM–12:45 PM — Soda Fountain Social: Teddy Bear Sundae Bar
Top off the morning with one of our specialty sundaes or floats, featuring flavors like:
• The Cub – Chocolate & vanilla swirl with cookie ears
• Honey Bear Float – Cream soda + butterscotch ice cream
• Grampa’s Root Beer Growler – Root beer + gummy bear topper
• Beary Berry Delight – Strawberry soda, vanilla, and teddy grahams
